About Me
Most of all, I'm a proud parent of five sons, who have added eight grandchildren to the fold. My wife Doreene is a retired middle school math teacher, who now spends most of her 'spare time' remodeling our modest San Antonio home.
My real estate career began in June, 1976. In November of the same year I was promoted to manager of an office in San Antonio's number one franchise at the time. I still worked as an agent, and over the next eleven years, I was able to share my management duties with listing and selling homes, always finishing in the top 10-15% of San Antonio Realtors in sales volume.
In 1987, I opened Ed Barrett Realtors and haven't looked back since. Although we have always been a small company, in 1993 we managed to finish in the top 25 offices in the city in sales volume according to a survey done by the San Antonio Business Journal. I've managed offices for 5 different major San Antonio real estate companies, and in 1982-83 I wrote a real estate column for a major San Antonio weekly newspaper.
I like to write, and have managed to publish one novel (Psychic Rhymes), numerous short stories in various magazines, and two magazine cover stories. Together, Doreene and I like to visit estate and garage sales, travel, and on Saturday nights watch a movie on TV.
Academically, I have a Bachelor and Master's degree in psychology, each of which has served me well in dealing with the myriad of buyers and sellers who are involved in major emotional experiences when buying or selling homes.
I'm at a stage in my real estate career that allows me to devote individual attention to each my clients. My promise to you is that I will do my utmost to make your San Antonio, TX real estate venture an enjoyable experience.
Sincerely,
Ed Barrett
